Almost a year ago I posted THIS vlog showing a DIY purse I had made on a whim for myself. After that I got a TON of requests for a tutorial. I kept putting it off because purses take a lot longer to sew then most of the projects I do…and because they make such loooong tutorials.

However I finally bit the bullet! I made a new version of the purse (slightly altered from the first) and created a tutorial for it.

Just for fun I used a ton of upcycled materials for the purse. I used a pair of jeans, a button up shirt, a vintage placemat, a belt, a leather jacket and a few other supplies to create a fun and unique looking purse.

DIY Leather Wrap Watch

Last year I picked a watch up at a thrift store because I liked the watch face…the strap however was another story. I got inspired recently and cut the old watch strap off and revamped it into a new watch that I love!

I used a piece of red leather I picked up at a local leather shop (I got a bag of scrap leathers for $5!), a couple of D rings and the watch face.

My DIY Purse

Ever wondered what you can make from some tiny corduroy upholstery fabric, a curtain, the sleeve from an old leather jacket, and the clip from a dog leash?

Well…those four things plus a zipper, thread, and some stabilizer are what I used to make my new purse!

I decided I needed a new bag and wanted it to be a crossbody bag, so I sat down one Sunday, sketched out my ideas and some rough measurements and got to work. I came up with a bag that I really love carrying!

I was given a large amount of purple pleather from a friend a few years ago and am always looking for projects to use it for. I’ve made a casing top curtain for our shower window, coin pouches,a few owl ornaments, and now a robot bag!

This was a super quick project and start to finish took less then an hour (that includes the filming). I might make more for gifts in different styles. Anyway, here it is…enjoy!
